We are OceanCamper®, a little campervan rental in Faro!

Vagabond OceanCamper® Van: a cosy mini-camper that offers you all the comfort of good sleeping, cooking, and outdoor shower, and is super handy to drive! 

This is a Renault Kangoo Maxi  (long version) from 2020/21 with two seats in the front and a complete set of camping equipment. A bed with a comfortable mattress (190x140) is located in the back of the van. Below the bed, there is a kitchen drawer, water deposit, and sufficient space for your luggage, surfboard, and camping equipment provided by me. If you need, you can transport surfboards on the rooftop bars. There is a small roof window at the top of the car with a mosquito net, providing you with fresh air while sleeping. Additionally to the general illumination, there are cozy lights located around the bed that provide a comfortable atmosphere in the evening when it's dark.

• Check-in location: shop Ocean Camper, Faro, located 1.8km distance from Faro airport. You can reach us by Uber/Bolt, taxi or walking (20min).

• Check-in is from 14h00. The regular check-in time is between 14h00 and 17h30.

• Check-in before 14h00 is only possible if the van is available and cleaned in the morning. We will confirm this the day before your arrival.

• Check-in after 17h30 (self-check-in):

  • A. Pick up your van by yourself in front of our shop (free, no late check-in fee). All check-in documents and security deposit arrangements must be finalised in advance.

  • B. Self-check-in at Faro airport or in the city (€49). All check-in documents and security deposit arrangements must be finalised in advance.

CHECK-OUT: **********************

• The regular check-out time is between 9h00 and 11h00.

• Check-out before 9h00 (self-check-out):

  • A. Leave your van by yourself in front of our shop, for free.

  • B. Self-check-out at Faro airport or in the city (€49).

• Late return: up to 30 minutes is free; after that €30 per started hour. A later check-out can be arranged for free if there is no following booking for your van that day (not in summer).

• The van as seen in the photos from 2020-2021, with AC, cruise control, electric window openers, a powerful and fuel-efficient diesel engine (manual transmission; 90HP; consumption 5-6 L/100km Diesel), 12V cigarette lighter socket, 2 USB plugs, and parking aid

• 80L water tank connected to the outdoor shower

• Radio: Bluetooth, USB, and Aux

• 2 Bath towels

• 200 km per night included (300 km with Advanced, 400 km with Complete protection; extra km 0.25€/km)

OUR REQUISITES:

• The driver must hold a valid driving licence for at least 1 year at pick-up. Drivers under 23 must take the YOUNG DRIVER option.

• Be a responsible and careful driver.

• Practise sustainable camping and leave NO waste (trash or toilet paper) in nature.

INSURANCE OPTIONS:

• BASIC (0€): security deposit of 1500€; you pay max. 1500€ in case of damage to the vehicle. One driver. 200 km per night. Glass and tyres are not covered.

• ADVANCED (15€/night): security deposit of 400€; you pay max. 400€ in case of damage to the vehicle. Glass and tyres are covered. Two drivers. 300 km per night.

• COMPLETE (29€/night): security deposit of 200€ (for consumables and extras); you pay 0€ in case of damage to the vehicle. Glass, tyres and storm damage are covered. Two drivers. 400 km per night.

• YOUNG DRIVER (10€/night): mandatory for drivers younger than 23.

No package covers damage to the interior, the roof, roof bars or underside, theft from the vehicle, fines, or damage from misuse or wrong fuel.

EXTRA COSTS: **********************

• Extra kilometres: 0.25€/km above the included kilometres

• Used gas bottle: 3€

• Water tank returned empty: 5€ refill

• Toll roads: one-time activation fee of 15€, plus tolls and 23% VAT. There is always a free alternative road.

• Diesel tank not returned full: 30€ refuelling fee + diesel + 23% VAT

• Late return: 30€ per started hour (first 30 minutes free)

• Unreasonably dirty van: cleaning fee up to 50€

• Pet fee: 50€
